The Parish Finance Council is convened in accordance with Church law and assists the Parish Priest to meet his financial and administrative responsibilities.
The members of the Council are appointed by the Parish Priest and serve a term of three years. This may be extended, however should be limited to a maximum of three concurrent terms.
The Parish Finance Council may be called upon in the areas of:
- Financial management
- Financial reporting
- Legal matters
The Finance Council currently meets on the fourth Tuesday quarterly to review the financial position of the parish, and to address any other business relevant to ensuring the ongoing financial health of the parish.
The council also undertakes the major fundraising events of the parish during the course of each year. Currently this includes a Parish Race Day at Caloundra normally in May each year and a Parish Dinner of Thanksgiving held in October.
The parish’s latest audited statements and minutes of Finance Council meetings are available to parishioners by request to the Parish Office.
